In what may well come to be seen as the culmination of the death throes of the Reagan Republican party, the first echoing retort shot across the media today as the cracks in the GOP began to give way to calving chasms and massive bergs sheared off the weathered cliffs.  The ability of Michael ("No, really! I'm, like, hip to your happening shizang my home young gentlepersons!") Steele and the GOP "leadership" (or is that "GOP" leadeship?) to maintain anything like coherency even among the reduced ranks of Republican membership is not only in retreat:

It's in hiding.

In the special election in the 23rd Congressional District race, Dede Scozzafava - the Republican candidate - quit the race today after hearing that she is being out-polled by the Conservative Party candidate that Alaskan blogger Sarah Palin is supporting.

Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-OK) "isn't sure which side (President Obama) is on" with his "un-American" speech in Cairo.

Listen, jackass, this is our overwhelmingly-elected President you are talking about being "un-American".  This is our Commander in Chief who you are openly wondering "which side he is on".  Protecting your precious political career is no excuse for personal and moral cowardice, when you accuse the President of treason you should put your damn money where you fat mouth is.

Other than that, President Obama and Dick Cheney were in complete agreement in their speeches yesterday on torture and Guantanamo Bay.

All of the world's banks have agreed to close their doors forever in response to the relentless logic of arguments put forth by peaceful mobs protesting the G-20 meetings in London, England today.

"It had never occurred to me that banks were evil until I saw a sign that read 'Banks Are EVIL!!!!!!' today." said Nigel Olson, CEO of The Royal Bank of England.  "It was being carried by a nice young gentleman with a stylish goatee and Birkenstocks who was waving it through one of our broken windows and shrieking something along the lines, I believe, of how he was being oppressed.  I had been busy working on a plan to rob quadraplegic old ladies of their pension funds and I just stopped and thought; 'Nigel, old man, this young lad may have a point."

Mr. Olson stated that he would be happy to answer further questions but had decided to nip off and commit suicide for his sins.

An interesting thing happened this past week.  After running into a flock of geese and losing power a US Airways Airbus A320 - flight 1549 - ditched in the Hudson River.  All 155 passengers and crew survived.

Last night, flight 1549 flew one last time.

What is most interesting about this incident is the positive impact the accident has had on the US population.

Al-Qaeda's #2, Ayman Zawahiri, released a video today blasting President Elect Obama and calling him "dishonorable" and refering to him with racial epithets.

Wait, I thought they would be dancing in the streets? (a sincere Fuck You, you miserable traitorous bastard, Congressman King).

Oh, and Rush Limbaugh - you sick anti-American slimeball - thanks for the mention that Obama looks like Ayman Zawahiri.

Wait, I thought that Al-Qaeda was praying for Obama win? (special trans-continental 'piss-off' to John Howard)  

And don't let the door hit your ass on the way out.

When I first saw this I said "I hate giving kudos to FOX" - but that isn't true.  It's nice to see that their folks have some common decency.
